Laureates of the OSTRALE`010
The OSTRALE is proud to present the Laureates of the OSTRALE`010.
The Belgian photographer Gregor Collienne is honored with the Jury
Award for his work "unknown". The Audiance Award is going to the Dutch
artist Andreas Hetfeld for his work "Raum des Glaubens". Both works are
shown at the Out of OSTRALE.

Centenary of the Erlwein-Schlachthof
Time: 19. August, 6 p.m.
At the occation of the Centenary of the Erlwein-Schlachthof the OSTRALE
opens its doors and allows insights into the artist`s camp.
With support of the Department for City Planning Dresden there will be
shown impressive historic documents, photographies, movies and
groundplans of the Erlwein-Schlachthof at the Heuboden Ost.
After that there will be the opportunity to take part in a guidance through the artist`s camp.

OSTRALE cultural education - screening "GG19"

Invitation to the preview of the OSTRALE'010-Workshop 'GG 19 - The Film -
The Workshop' and at the same time info-event for interested
professional audience from political and educational organisations.
The idea of 'GG 19 - The Film - The Workshop' is to include the impact
of the rich diversity of international contemporary art into the
examination of the general conditions of everyday life in germany with
the means of art.
Based on the film 'GG 19 - 19 good reasons for democracy', that has
achieved to transpose the legal conditions of everyday life - the 19
basic rights of the German constitution out of its abstract juridical
wording into 19 entertaining short films. In contrary to the original
wording these easily provoke a controversial discussion because of the
cinematic experience.
Artists of film, theater, music/ poetry, design, mixed media collages
and creative writing will accompany this discussion in different modules
with their means of art and guide the participant to realise and
express their individual view in the boundary of these genres.
The dynamic approach of 'GG 19 - The Film - The Workshop' means a
sustainable intermediation of basic rights as legal conditions of
everyday life, teaching creative competencies at the same time.
According to the three weeks of the OSTRALE'010 the workshop will take
place three times for five days, each time welcoming different target
groups:
30.8. - 3.9.: for people with and without mental- and physical impairments
6.9. - 10.9.: for people with and without a migrational background
13.9. - 17.9.: for international and German students
Selected GG 19 short films and results of former workshops will be presented. The event is free of charge.

OSTRALE at the German Congress on Crime Prevention
The cultural network culture.net, partner of the OSTRALE, is
represented on the German Congress on Crime Prevention on May the 10th and
11th at the Berlin ICC with its international projects.
culture.net will present the GG19 workshop as part of the cultural
education projects of the OSTRALE`010.
The aim of the German Congress on Crime Prevention, which is the
biggest Congress on Crime Prevention in Europe, is to present and
strengthen crime prevention within a broad societal framework. Thus it
contributes to crime reduction as well as reducing both the fear of
crime, and the number of victims of crime.

OSTRALE at the ITB
The Ostrale was represented at the Dresden stand at the ITB, the world`s major touristic fair from the 9th-13th march in the Berlin fiar halls. Participating artists oft the OSTRALE performance on the 11th of march have been: Erika Matsunami, Nicole Meier, Teresa Hackel and Matthias Rethberg.

Public Award. More than 11.000 visitors were enchanted by the poetic
